In 2012, we first established the
"German Open Backgammon Championships"
The tournament, which is traditionally held on the Pentecost weekend, was a great success, with 110 participants at the Steigenberger Hotel Langen-Mörfelden, and it became clear that we needed larger premises.

So in 2013 we moved to the Dorint Hotel in Frankfurt-Sulzbach, where we were able to accommodate up to 150 players in an area of just under 300 m².

In 2018, we again had to find larger premises due to space constraints. Our new host was the H+ Hotel in Niedernhausen, located between Frankfurt and Wiesbaden, which provided us with a 500 m² gaming room.

In 2019, the "German Championship" was already the largest international backgammon tournament in Germany with 205 participants.

In 2024, we once again achieved a record number of participants at what is now the "International German Backgammon Championships".
We recorded a total of 219 players finding their way to us.
Motivated by these successes, we try every year to put on an interesting event for the participants.
