Since 2003 exists the Rhein-Neckar Cup in Mannheim, which is one of the most successful regional tournaments in Germany.
In 2012, the two passionated backgammon players Volker Sonnabend and Rainer Witt starts to organize

the German Championships - with success.
Like in the 1980s and 1990s the tournaments regularly count over 100 national and international participants, with each year increasing tendency.

Motivated by this success, we try to increase the attractivity and keep it always interesting for our participants every year.
